Marvel Avengers Alliance: PVP Tournament #2 is Coming
Marvel Avengers Alliance
My Rankings in Tournament #1
PVP Tournament #1 is Over
Marvel Avengers Alliance is a Free to Play role-playing game, accessible through Facebook.
If you play Marvel Avengers Alliance (MAA), then you are in the loop that the first official PVP Tournament just ended.
How well did you place?
As you can see in the picture to the right, I was able to get the 10 gold bars and the Focal Plasma Cannon, but I was not able to get into the Top 1% of the Tournament, which would have given me the Infiltrator's Power Armor. It has a special bonus that reduces incoming Melee damage by 25%. The bonus is cool, but I really don't need to have three infiltrators out at once. My current team is Spider-man and Invisible Woman. Scrappers would have a field day with my team, although I do have a game plan to keep one Scrapper at bay. If I am battling two or three, then I'm in big trouble.
I was also able to get more wins than losses, which I feel pretty good about.
Now that the first official PVP Tournament is over, have you thought about what you will do to place better in the next PVP Tournament?
Note that my Agent was in the 80-88 level range for the duration of the PVP Tournament.
PVP Grand Prize = Deadpool
Weapons & Analysis of Tournament Performance
My final choice of weapons ended up being:
- The Faulteater
- The Phoenix Pinion
- Coulson's Revenge
- The Soulfinder
I found these to be my winning weapons because The Faulteater & Phoenix Pinion provided a health boost X2 for my agent on his turn. The Faulteater also puts a double negative of burning and poison on whoever you shoot. Then you can use the Phoenix Pinion to get a damage bonus after you have sprayed them with Faulteater bullets.
Coulson's Revenge is a good gun for taking out a large chunk of health (at least 1,000 damage), but the downside is that the enemy can dodge this blast. I like the Faulteater because you have 4 bullets and that's 4 chances to hit the enemy. If they dodge all 4 of your bullets, they have a high evasion on that character, typically from having numerous Iso-8 shards equipped on that character.
I also equipped the Soulfinder, mainly because it provided a Counter-attack and applies Sin to an enemy to reduce their defense rating.
I think that I ended up doing decent by the end of the PVP Tournament. Those in the top 100 of the Tournament won the character Deadpool. I really wanted to get Deadpool, being a fan, but that's how life goes. I was clearly not Top 100 material.
I managed to stay between 8% and 5% on average, and at my best, I was able to get within the Top 3%.
PVP Tournament #2 is "Coming Soon"
Since the first PVP Tournament ended, the PVP feature is not available.
My first thought is that the Marvel Avengers Alliance people do not leave up the PVP because it can make the game unstable.
For now, it has been saying that the next PVP Tournament is "Coming Soon."
My New Secret Weapon
My Top Secret PVP Weapon
I am ready with my new secret weapon that I just won from Dr. Doom. I think I will place much better with it, because it not only increases all of my stats, but it lowers all stats on the enemy character. That's a double whammy for you.
Special bonus feature: If you use the Doombringer immediately after Emma Frost uses Psychic Tap on your agent, your agent will not be damaged by the Psychic Tap.
Common PVP Combinations
Common PVP Combinations
One of the most commonly seen PVP combination is: Agent, Captain America, and the Scarlet Witch. Other configurations commonly seen are: Agent, Captain America, and Human Torch; Agent, Captain America, and Emma Frost; Agent, Emma Frost, and Captain America.
The key is being able to take down a tactician. Captain America and Emma Frost are tacticians, and can be countered with infiltrators.
Human Torch and Scarlet witch are Blasters. They aren't so easy if you have a team of infiltrators, and you will most likely have to focus all three attacks on the Blaster until the enemy is defeated.
If you encounter a Scrapper, try to hit the Scrapper with the Faulteater, then use force cage with Invisible Woman.
